THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister Kunhalikutty has said that the policy of the Muslim League is to ensure that number of bars comes down by atleast one. The League will support those holding similar views. The party has a clear stance on the issue but the thing is that it is not making any fuss about it.
The minister said he hoped that the Congress would arrive at an appropriate decision on bar licences at the party forum after which the issue would be discussed by the UDF. At the UDF meet, the League would express its opinion.
Regarding the criticism on 418 closed substandard bars, he said the critics should also explain how such bars could function all these days.
