NEW DELHI: RSP’s Central committee meeting has given the go-head for the merger of RSP and RSP (B). In the meeting held in Delhi on Saturday, the party decided to hold plenum within the next six moths to chart out future course of action.
Ironically, the RSP is with the Left in Bengal and with the Congress in Kerala. RSP merger committee will be held in Kerala on June 10. The nod for merger was given despite the fact that the RSP’s stand in Kerala is different from that at national level.
Party leaders N K Premachandran and AA Aziz explained the circumstances that led the RSP in Kerala to leave LDF and join UDF. National Secretary T J Chandrachoodan said the central leadership had accepted that decision as it was appraised of the ill-treatment RSP received at the hands of the CPM. He added that RSP’s national meeting would also discuss ways to regain the "lost glory" of the Left.
