NEW DELHI: Minority votes obtained by the UDF in the Lok Sabha polls are the reason for the bad performance of the CPI (M), assessed the politburo. Even though they were taken into confidence, the party failed in securing their votes.

UDF getting minority votes is the reason for the bad performance of the CPI.

After denying the Kollam seat, RSP joining the UDF was a setback for the party. Confusion arose between the party activists on the party leaving the Left Front. The CPM failed in conveying the reasons for the RSP joining the Right Front.

In the meantime, party state secretary Biman Bose said all are equally responsible for the defeat of the party in West Bengal.
