Three children drown in Edamalayar River

KOTHAMANGALAM: Three children drowned at the Edamalayar River Sunday afternoon. They have been identified as Abhijith, Krishnendu and Jithu of Alappuzha.

The incident happened in the aftenoon at the Vadattuppara Palavanpadi side of the Edamalayar River when they went for bathing. 

Krishnendu died while trying to rescue Abhijit and Jithu from drowning. The bodies of the three were fished out with the help of the local people. The bodies have been shifted to the hospital for post mortem.
