THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Due to increased evaporation from water bodies in the current summer heat, summer rains can be expected in the next three days, the State Meteorological department has announced.
It said that the monsoon will reach the Kerala cost in the first week of June. It may get delayed and the amount of rain will be less this time. Similar situation existed during 2009, 2004 and 2002.
The officials said that there will 5 % decrease in the amount of rain and they attribute it to a phenomenon called El Nino when rain clouds are weakened by hot winds.
