THRIPUNITHURA: The charred body of a student, a final-year B.Com student at the NSS College in Thripunithura, was found in the toilet of the hostel. The victim has been identified as Vidya, native of Marad in Ernakulam. Her lunch box, books and bag were also found lying burnt outside the toilet.
There are plus two to degree level courses in the college. A student who went to the bathroom in the morning found the body first and informed the Principal.
A picture of a girl drawn on the floor with a chalk has grown suspicious. Initial reports say it is a case of suicide. DCP Nishanthini said the girl may have set ablaze after pouring kerosene on her body. Chances of a murder are also examined. Forensic and finger print experts have reached the spot. The body has been sent for post mortem after inquest.
