Text books: HC asks govt to file affidavit

KOCHI: The Kerala High Court expressed dissatisfaction on the delay in the printing of text books. The single bench said the delay in the printing cannot be justified. The court was considering the plea in connection with the delay in printing.

The court asked to file the affidavit by explaining the steps the government have taken so far in the printing of text books. This issue cannot be seen lightly as it badly affects the students’ future. The Onam exams are nearing and the non-availability of text books cannot be justified at all, the court said.

Meantime, the government informed the court that the text books would be distributed by July 31. The government has asserted that they have decided not to give the printing tender to private companies.
