NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court Tuesday refused to order grant of recognition to two private medical colleges of Kerala. A division bench led by Justice M Y Iqbal refused to grant recognition to P K Das Medical College in Palakkad and D M Institute of Medical Sciences in Wayanad.
The court also criticized the colleges for approaching the Supreme Court directly questioning the medical council of India for not granting recognition for the courses. Don’t think that if you have money anything can be done, the court said. The court said they cannot intervene in the case now and asked the medical college to approach the high court.
The division bench criticized them for approaching the Supreme Court instead of the high court. Do you think that a favourable verdict can be obtained if you bring top advocates, asked the court? The Supreme Court is an organization which has reliablity and stability, warned the bench.
The court said the decision whether the same plea will exist will be informed later.
