THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM Politburo member Pinarayi Vijayan has said the party will examine the reasons for the Aruvikkara by-poll defeat and will rectify mistakes committed by the oparty, if any.
In his Facebook posting, he said the party would also examine the attempts made to torpedo the democracy through anti-people means and to threat raised by communalism.
“Oommen Chandy utilised communalism politically. He fed communal force called BJP water and manure. But we can’t say that the BJP benefitted out of that. BJP had gained UDF’s votes and sympathy factor over O Rajagopal. Even in the Left’s loyalists, there are powers who want to recruit people on the basis communalism. It is a move to destroy Kerala’s secular sentiments. Even names of great men like Sree Narayana Guru have been dragged in for that purpose. It is high time people opposed middlemen who foster the politics of Pravin Togadias,” he wrote.
