Premam piracy case: Notice issued to director and producer

KOCHI: The Anti-Piracy Cell has directed Alphonse Puthren and Anwar Rasheed, the director and producer of Premam, to appear before them in the film’s piracy case. They said that though a complaint via an e-mail was sent the two has not given the necessary evidences to investigate the case. The two will be asked to give an explanation on it and are likely to appear before the cell tomorrow.

The crime branch anti-piracy cell had conducted an inspection at the Kinfra Vismaya Studio and some theatres in connection with the case yesterday. Statements were taken from nine persons including director B Unnikrishnan.

Hard discs were seized to examine the log details of the computers. Crime branch SP Rajpal Meena questioned the cameraman of the film Lokasamastha Sukhino Bhavanthu following the spread of the fake copy of the film.

Meantime, the police questioned a native of Tamil Nadu closely linked with the film field. DGP Senkumar said investigation in the case is progressing and it would take some time to complete due to some technical aspects.
