Man strangles three-year-old-son to death

KANHANGAD: A man strangled his three-year-old-son to death in an inebriated condition. The child has been identified as Rahul, son of Raju and Padmini of Panathur coming under the Rajapuram police station limits.

Raju, who reached home in an inebriated condition last night, had a fight with his wife.After the fight, Padmini went to her house nearby along with her son. He went after her, brought the child back and strangled him to death.

The accused brother and DYFI local leader Sujesh, who reached home, together brought him under control. The child, who was lying unconscious was first taken to a primary health center nearby. He was later taken to the community health centre in Poodamkallu. The body of the child has been shifted to the mortuary of Kanhangad district hospital. Rahul has an eight-month-old brother. Raju is at present in the custody of the Rajapuram police. Circle inspector T P Sumesh has reached the spot.
