THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: If the LDF comes to power after the assembly polls, the Adani Group will not be replaced from the construction deal of the Vizhinjam project, said CPM politburo member Pinarayi Vijayan. The CPM is not against the Vizhinjam Project, only opposed certain conditions of the deal, he said at a press meet.
Pinarayi said, “The CPM is not a party opposing development. The party opposed the project as it was taken forward without the participation of the public. The CPM is willing to give its support to developmental projects. Has this government brought any projects, only announcements were made? The Kerala Study Congress will discuss all the problems of Kerala and after that will hold discussions on assembly constituencies. It will begin in February. LDF will prepare its election manifesto based on the directions of congress, he said.
The previous LDF government was not able to make the leap witnessed in the people’s planning in 1996-2001. There are differences of opinion with the UDF Government in developmental activities. The party has obtained the support of secular forces in their stand against SNDP yogam general secretary Vellappally Natesan, he said.
