THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Reopening of schools in Kerala for the next academic year has been postponed to June 6 from June 3.
The decision was taken by the cabinet meeting on Wednesday on account of Ramzan.
Earlier, leaders led by Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala gave a letter to the chief minister and Education minister, demanding the government to postpone the reopening of schools from June 3 to June 6.
Following this, there were also some rumours that the schools will reopen only on June 12. Soon the education department came out with the clarification that it was wrong information.
