NEW DELHI: V Muraleedharan, senior BJP leader from Kerala and a Rajya Sabha member from Maharashtra has been inducted in Narendra Modi’s cabinet. Modi invited Muraleedharan for talks ahead of the swearing-in ceremony. With this, one from Kerala has got a representation in the union cabinet.
Soon after his name was heard, he told reporters that he never expected a ministerial berth. The ministers selected for oath of office will meet Modi at his residence at 4.40 pm just before the oath taking ceremony. Murali too got an invitation to attend Prime Minister’s tea party.
Muraleedharan, a native of Thalassery reached politics through ABVP. He had served as ABVP’s state secretary and all India general secretary. His presence in BJP and RSS was very strong. Murali who was in Delhi for a long time has a close rapport with Modi. Murali had also worked as chairman of Nehru Yuva Kendra.
