THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Making a veiled attack on NSS, the BJP has said that those people who stood it them at the time of Sabarimala agitation didn’t help during the Lok Sabha election.
The allegation was made by BJP State spokesperson M S Kumar.
“Most of the organisations that agitated against young women’s entry in Sabarimala, took a stand in favour of the UDF. This factor should be examined by the party leadership,” he told a private TV channel without directly mentioning the name of NSS.
Meanwhile, the BJP is desperate over the fact that despite prevalence of a conducive atmosphere the party in Kerala, the BJP failed to secure at least one seat. This has also created a crisis in State BJP party.
When the whole nation experienced a pro-BJP wave, the State BJP could not use it to their advantage in Kerala. In the coming days this would be discussed at national and state level.
Though BJP was able to make some gains in a few seats in Kerala, it was a let-down for the party in Thiruvananthapuram, where the expectations on Kummanam was very high. Even Shobha Surendran from nearby Neyyattinkara constituency showed a better performance.
