KOCHI: The police conducted searches at Shobha John’s houses in Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi in connection with the Varapuzha sex scam on Saturday. She is a prime accused in the Varapuzha sex scam in which a minor girl along with three men were arrested last week.The girl stated before the police that she was 19 but after examining her certificates, it was found that she was only 17. The girl had submitted before the police that she was sold to Shobha John for Rs 1 lakh by her parents this year. The parents of the girl were also arrested this week.Circle inspector K G Babu Kumar who is investigating the case told Express that the state-wide search for Shobha John is continuing. Her mobile phone is switched off and she is being traced within and outside the state. The police have arrested five persons so far in connection with the case. Several accused in the Paravoor case are also involved in this case.
