YC activists lay siege to Kozhikode railway station

Sunday, August 28, 2011: A group of Youth Congress activists today laid siege to Kozhikode railway station demanding a token system for ticket reservation.

This would enable people to take a token from the reservation counter and relax in the chairs provided at the office. As each one’s turn approaches, their token number will be displayed on the screen at the counter and the person can submit his filled application form to obtain the ticket.
The activists barged into the deputy manager’s office and raised slogans. The activists who gharaoed the Railway deputy manager were later arrested and removed by the police.
