Kozhikode : The National Secular Conference (NSC) in Kerala, a collective of minority communities, today demanded a probe by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into Marad riots that claimed nine lives in 2003 in the state.
Talking to newspersons here, NSC President P T A Rahim, MLA, said a probe by the CBI would be necessary to unravel the truth into the incident and reported attempt to thwart the investigation.

He said the reported attempt of Indian Union Muslim League leader and State Industries P K Kunhalikutty to sabotage CBI probe into the case was ''shocking.'' He also called upon the government to implement the decision taken to constitute a minority community cell in the state more than one-a-half-years ago.
