Rs 1200 advance to part time contingent employees

Thiruvananthapuram: Eight categories of part-time contingent employees in Kerala would get Rs 1200 as Onam advance, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy today said.

Briefing newspersons the Cabinet decisions here, he said Welfare Pension in the State would be increased from Rs 300 to Rs 400.


During the Onam season, steps would be taken for minimize the rush of passengers and reduce the price hike of essential commodities, he added.


Minimum Support Price of paddy would be increased by Rs One, he said. Five acres of land was allotted for a judicial academy.


Five per cent of the profit from the wind energy would be given to Adivasi families at Attappaddy where Suzlon company allegedly grabbed their land and erected windmills, he said.
