Permanent monitoring system to control price hike

Monday, August 29, 2011: The Kerala government will introduce permanent monitoring system to control the prices of essential commodities in the state.
Official sources said that Chief Minister Oommen Chandy had given direction to take steps to control prices as efforts to arrest price hike during festival seasons had proved ineffective earlier.
Steps had been initiated to control black marketing of essential commodities by the traders during Onam season, they added.
