Microsoft PC Hardware eyes Kerala

KOCHI: Microsoft PC Hardware India is all set to focus on the Kerala market. Targeting `10 million sales turnover this fiscal through the sales of accessories, the company has announced offer prices for its premium products during the Onam season. Life cam HD 5000 and wireless mobile mouse are the products that are available at a discount during the festival season.


“South India, especially Kerala, has emerged as key market for consumer electronics products. Compared to other states, Kerala market has many distinctive features such as NRI population, a large number of internet users and broadband connectivity which prompted us to focus on the state,” said Satish Kumar Parredi, Sr category manager ( PC and hardware). He said the company decided to penetrate the Kerala market as it has matured now.

Asked whether Microsoft had any plans to open an exclusive shop in Kerala, Parredi said as of now they were not planning such shops. “Our products are available in almost all leading shops throughout Kerala. we have a retail network of 150 stores in Kerala and we constantly bring innovative offers,” he said.  He said that the company never repairs a device but  replaces it if anything goes wrong during the warranty period.

Priced at Rs 2,025, the  Life cam HD 5000 is integrated with a true colour technology with a sharp high definition, video and 720 wide screen format.  The wireless mouse is priced at Rs 759.
