Government employees need PSC’s verification report

T’PURAM: The new verification report introduced by Kerala State Public Service Commission (PSC) has begun causing troubles for government employees in the state as the PSC has not yet distributed its verification report to them.

The report is necessary for an employee in order to get permanency in his/her respective post and to get transfers to the districts they belong to (when vacancies are reported). As this is the case, many employees including last grade employees are denied transfers.

Earlier, the verification report of the police was only needed for an appointment to the post of last grade. Once this report was received, there was no obstacle in getting permanency from the next day of appointment. But now the last grade employees also need to get the verification report from the PSC.

A person is appointed to the government service according to the Kerala State and Services Rules 9 (A). Though the appointments were made through PSC, the appointments will not be permanent.

It was a year ago that the verification report of the PSC was made compulsory. The pathetic situation lies in the fact that the PSC has not even given the verification report to a single person.
