‘Don't move Padmanabhaswamy Temple treasure’

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Astrologers in Kerala says that God does not want the treasure found at the Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple to be taken out of the premises in Thiruvananthapuram. They claim that the treasures discovered at the temple must not be moved, or the wrath of the gods will be unleashed. The astrologers are conducting devaprasnom, a three-day ritual they say will help them understand the will of the temple god."It is advised that the wealth found in the chambers is not moved out.

These are not just valuables but also divine and displacing this will invite the wrath of the Lord," said Shree Padmanabhaswamy Temple astrologer Padmnabha Sharma.Even as the debate on how to use the wealth of the temple rages on, the Supreme Court committee which ordered the vaults be opened has decided to play it safe. They say religious sentiments will be considered ."The devaprasnom findings are not completely public. We will wait for it to come," says CV Ananda Bose, head of the expert committee. The Supreme Court has been treading cautiously in the temple issue right from the beginning, making it clear that religious sentiments and temple rituals should be given due importance. But the question now is: will the inventory process be an unfinished task after getting mired in the faith versus law controversy?
