NEW DELHI: UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi has undergone successful surgery in the United States for an undisclosed medical condition, Congress party spokesman said on Thursday.'She has undergone surgery and her condition is satisfactory,' Janardhan Dwivedi, who is the party's general secretary, told reporters.
Sonia Gandhi is expected to be away from political action for two to three weeks.
A four-member team - Sonia Gandhi's son Rahul Gandhi, defence minister A K Antony, political secretary Ahmed Patel and Dwivedi himself - will oversee the party affairs in her absence, he added.
