Saturday, August 13, 2011: Kerala Minister for Forests, Sports and Cinema KB Ganesh Kumar opined that riches found from the underground vaults of the Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple here could be exhibited in a museum under the temple itself for generating income for the benefit of the temple and the government.
Inaugurating Sagarasangamam-2011, the cultural celebrations of industrial Kerala, he said the income generated by exhibiting the riches could be used for the benefits of Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple and other temples lacking primary facilities and the Government.
”Forty per cent of the income can be used for the temple itself, another 40 per cent for other temples lacking facilities and the balance 20 per cent can be saved as corpus fund by the government for the development,” he said.
The riches could be preserved in a museum with the highest safety measures, making them visible for everybody irrespective of their religion, he added.
