Goonda hacked to death

ALAPPUZHA:  A 38-year-old man was hacked to death at Thiruvizha, near Cherthala in the district, in the early hours of today.

The dead was identified as Anil Kumar, a native of Thiruvizha and was said to be a criminal, police said.

The incident took place last night and the immediate reason for the attack was said to be criminal rivalry between two gangs, the sources added.

Following a verbal fight, the gang attacked Anil Kumar with weapons. Though he was admitted to the Kottayam Medical College Hospital with severe head injuries, he died in the morning, the sources added.
