Azhar’s son continues to be very critical

HYDERABAD: The condition of Ayazuddin, son of former Indian cricket captain and Moradabad MP Mohammad Azharuddin, who was grievously injured in an accident here, continues to be “very critical” for the second day on Monday.

According to a medical bulletin issued by the Apollo Hospital in Jubilee Hills here, where he is undergoing treatment, “The patient (Ayazuddin) continues to be in a very critical condition and is currently on a ventilator. He has multi-organ failure and is being supported with medication and other treatment to maintain his vital functions.

“The prognosis and outcome are guarded due to the severity of the injury and continued instability,” the bulletin, issued at 11 am, said.

A specialist team of doctors are working round-the-clock to ensure the best medical care possible to the 19-year-old who was injured in a motorbike accident on Sunday.

Azharuddin, who flew in here from London in the wee hours, is in the hospital with his family members.

Ayazuddin sustained serious injuries while his 16-year-old cousin Ajmaan died in the accident that took place on city outskirts.

According to police, the accident occurred around 9 am near Puppalguda toll-gate on Outer Ring Road when the Suzuki Sports Bike, which Ayazuddin and Ajmaan were riding, skidded.

Ayazuddin is the former cricketer’s son from his first wife Naureen.
