IIT for Kerala

Saturday, September 24, 2011: The central government has assured the Chief Minister Oommen Chandy that they will give green signal to many developmental projects including the Indian Institute of management for the state.
The consensus was made in the meeting of chief minister Oommen Chandy with union ministers. In press meet after the meet, CM said Kerala would get IIT next year. The promise is to give permission for an IIT as part of 12 the five-year plan. CM said the talks were fruitful with central ministers.
Education minister PK Abdu Rabb said that the IIT would be set up in the place of Palakkad Instrumentation limited. After talks with E Ahamed, Abdu Rabb said that 300 to 600 acres of land should be taken over.
