Kerala beauty pageant audition to be held in Dubai

Tuesday, September 13, 2011: For the first time, the audition for the popular Miss Kerala pageant will be held in Dubai this year, providing an opportunity to young girls in the Gulf region to participate.
The preliminary round of Hair-O-Max Miss Kerala 2011 beauty pageant will be held on September 17 in Dubai, Harish Babu, managing director of Impresario Event Management India Limited, the organisers of the event, said.

In all, 22 girls will be short-listed for the grand finale to take place in Kochi on October 8.
“The Miss Kerala pageants attract a number of entrants from the Middle East region, particularly the Gulf countries. This year we are hosting an audition round in Dubai for the convenience of the thousands of young Keralites from the region,” Babu said.
“The short-listed candidates will compete at the Hair-O-Max Miss Kerala 2011 beauty pageant with the eventual winner to serve as the global ambassador of Kerala,” he added.
A maximum of three girls are expected to be short-listed from the Gulf region through the Dubai audition.
Miss Kerala was established in 1999 and over the past decade the pageant has attracted more than 2,000 applicants.
