Friday, September 23, 2011: A 48-year-old man has died of fever in
Thrissur district on Friday. The deceased has been identified as Jose,
hailing from Vellanikkodu, police told.
He was undergoing treatment at the Thrissur medical college hospital.
Spread of viral fever reported from many parts of Kerala is causing
concern as various types of viral infections, including leptospirosis,
have claimed at least 20 lives in the last one week.
The Health Department has stepped up preventive and curative measures
to contain the spread of spread of fever, mostly reported from the
northern districts.
