Wednesday, September 14, 2011: Congress leader VD Satheeshan MLA has
once again lashed out at Government chief whip PC George for his
decision to file a complaint against Vigilance judge P.K Haneefa, who
ordered for a further probe into palmolein case.
Speaking to the reporters here on Wednesday, Satheeshan added that
the Chief whip has set a wrong precedent by complaining against a judge
and his move was unconstitutional.
In a letter send to President Pratibha Devisingh Patel, Governor and
Supreme Court Chief Justice, George alleged that the Vigilance judge had
ordered a probe into the case without following the usual procedures.
The judge was deliberately trying to make Chief Minister Oommen
Chandy an accused in the case, the letter alleged. George’s action has
apparently embarrassed the Congress leadership.
