Village officer, assistant arrested
THRISSUR: Vigilance sleuths arrested a village officer and a village assistant for allegedly receiving bribes for issuing certificates. Punnayurkkulam village officer K. Rejikumar, 45, of Thiruvananthapuram, and village assistant Darley, 42, were arrested by Vigilance officials, led by Deputy Superintendent of Police P. Jyothish Kumar, on the basis of a complaint lodged by Punnukkavu Pattanathil Usman. Rejikumar and Darley were arrested when they accepted chemically-treated currency.
