THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: K M Shajahan, former political secretary of V S Achuthanandan, launched an attack against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and his government. The government is using the fund collected for flood relief measures for the family of Narayanan Nair, director of Law Academy and his daughter Lekshmi Nair, alleged Shajahan. The government is spending crore collected for the relief measures of flood victims on the flat owned by Lekshmi Nair to function as the office of Rebuild Kerala, he alleged in his Facebook post.
The Keralites incurred a great loss in the floods that broke out in 2018. Many lost their lives. Hundreds lost their houses, household items and important documents. There are many who lost their entire income including agricultural land and business houses.
It is a fact that the government has not rebuild Kerala fully. When opposition leader visited 11 flood affected taluks, the victims directly gave him more than 11,000 complaints. Many from them had not obtained their immediate relief of Rs 10,000. Many have not obtained any compensation from the government so far. The 2257 crore obtained for chief minister’s relief fund has not been used.
