The tremors were felt at Kulamavu, Moolamattom and Cheruthoni. No casualty or property loss was reported due to the tremor felt. The tremors occurred at 2.32 pm.
The area had recorded as many as 28 mild quakes since July last year with Kerala citing it as a threat to the dam and insisting on building a new reservoir to replace the existing one which it contends is weak.
