Monday, January 02, 2012: Water Resource Minister PJ Joseph on Monday said that roller-compacted concrete dam will be built at Mullaperiyar. He said that the dam is being constructed as per the direction of Roorkee IIT.The roller-compacted technology ensures continues work and there is no need for watering on the concrete structure, he said. The most important factor is the quality control ensured in the technology and the dam is constructed in a manner to reduce the total cost, he said. The preliminary study report on Mullaperiyar Dam Break Analysis by Roorkee IIT would be submitted to the Government before 15th of this month.
