Tuesday, January 17, 2012: A 38-year-old woman allegedly strangled her six-year old daughter to death and committed suicide by hanging herself at her house near Pattom here on Monday evening.The incident took place around 4 pm on Monday. The deceased has been identified as Rajasree and her daughter Vishnumaya (8). Rajasree has been working as Selection Grade Assistant at the Accounts Section of PSC. Vishnumaya was a third standard student at Arya central school here.
Rajasree’s husband Padmakumar, who was Superintendent at KSEB, had died of cardiac arrest 40 days before. In her suicide note, Rajasree stated that she could not bear the grief of her husband’s demise.
The dead bodies will be handed over to their relatives after post mortem.
