KOZHOKODE: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has said he would not oppose KPCC president V M Sudheeran if he is chosen by the high command to contest in the coming Assembly election. “In that case I’ll accept the decision wholeheartedly,” he said.
“It is the high command which has to take a call on Sudheeran’s candidature. The Congress doesn’t have the practice of questioning the decision taken by the high command. In the election, the Congress and the UDF will fight it out unitedly. The government hopes that there would be continuity in governance. The allegations made by the Opposition have turned out to be false,” he said.
Chandy said the Opposition had no charges to be made against the government. “Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan’s participation in the poll fray will not affect UDF’s winning chance. Kerala’s government is the one that has implemented many a development programme. The people will certainly realise that fact,” he added.
