NEW DELHI: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said today that matters like who would lead the UDF in the coming Assembly election would be decided by the Congress High Command.
“The Congress has its own system for choosing its candidates and whatever is its decision, nobody will question it. That has been the party custom,” he said at a press conference here on Monday.
He said the Congress and the UDF were going to face the election with confidence. The Congress also had the feeling that it would win the election. “All used to say that a Front that hinges on the thin majority of two MLAs will be short-lived. But the government is going to complete five years now. The Opposition has been trying to dent the government’s image by creating controversies. The government moved on upholding the slogan ‘Development and precaution’. The government could do many useful things for the people,” he said.
