KOCHI: Kerala High Court has given temporary permission to Kadakkal Peedika Devi Temple to continue with its Vedivazhipad (offering in which crackers).
The interim order was given by the division bench comprising Justice Thottathil B Radhakrishnan and Justice Anu Sivaraman based on the petition submitted by Kadakkal native Kamaladevi against Thiruvananthapuram Devaswom Board Commissioner’s order preventing Vedivazhipad in the temple.
The petitioner had pleaded that the order barring the ritualistic Vedivazhipad that had been followed in the temple for more than a century be cancelled. The petitioner’s husband was in charge of the Vedivazhipad and after his death Explosive was registered in her name.
