THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Unruly scenes were witnessed in the assembly over the resignation of Revenue Minister Adoor Prakash. The opposition created an uproar seeking the resignation of the minister following vigilance director’s recommendation that he has to face trial. The opposition raised the issue after the question hour and the beginning of the zero hour. Though the speaker directed them to calm down, the opposition did not pay heed to it. When the logjam continued, the speaker suspended the proceedings.
Vigilance director N Shankar Reddy clarified that he cannot be exempted from the case registered on the complaint that he demanded an amount of Rs 25 lakh for sanctioning a ration depot at Omasseri in Kozhikode.
