THRISSUR: On the eve of the High Court case hearing regarding the parade of the tusker Thechikkottukavu Ramachandran, Minister V.S. Sunil Kumar said that the govt. won’t oppose if the court allows the parade of the celebrity tusker but in the event of any problems those who are responsible will be made answerable. “Thechikkottukavu Ramachandran was banned by the district collector. The govt is not persistent in the matter, which will be addressed in the court”, Sunil Kumar said.
Thechikkottukavu Ramachandran has been the reason for a dozen casualties and many other hazards. The tusker is also partially blind. The elephant observation panel presided by the district collector decided to ban Ramachandran from the Thrissur Pooram as a cautionary move which was backed by the Forest Minister K. Raju.
