Thiruvananthapuram: Oommen Chandy, CM informed the state assembly a grant of five lakh rupee each would be granted to the victims of accident that occurred at a crusher unit at Vengara in Malappuram. The CM was replying to an adjournment motion moved by the opposition in this regard. The CM informed the government is viewing such accidents seriously and would form a policy to avoid such accidents in future.
VS Achuthanandan, opposition leader demanded ten lakh rupee should be allotted to the families of those killed in the fatal accident. Four people were killed in an accident at a stone crushing unit at Vengara. The bodies were recovered after long search from the debris.
