Engineering admissions to be delayed

Wednesday, July 27, 2011: The admission to the engineering colleges in Kerala will be delayed as the selection of students in the community quota will not be finished on time.
The implementation of some of the clauses in the agreement reached by the government and the self-financing college (SFC) management is the main cause of delay.
One clause says that out of the 50 percent seats handed over to the government, 15 percent has been reserved for the students from the community that runs the institution.
To implement this, the government has to start work including examining the community certificate of the students who are eligible for the seats.
The procedures will be completed only by August second week. Although the results were out on May 24th, completion of admission procedures is indefinitely delayed. This has also resulted in many students opting for study out of state.

State Govt is not defending the mark equalization scheme, announced by the Commissioner of entrance examinations, in High court. Govt seems to be with CBSE/ICSE
students.Do the needful to end the delay
in admission process.
