THRISSUR: 'Bharathan Smriti', a commemorative programme on Bharathan, organised by the Bharathan Foundation was held at the Regional Theatre, here, on Saturday. Actor Jayabharati inaugurated the function. "Bharathan was an inborn artist.
He was a perfectionist who tried to bring out the best in his films", said Jayabharati, who had donned the role of Rati in his muchacclaimed Ratinirvedam. "Most of the artists and directors came to the film field for money, but Bharathan was different," she added. Film critic John Paul, who presided over the function, said all Bharathan films are capable of bringing nostalgic feelings in a viewer.Bharathan's wife and noted actor KPAC Lalitha attended the meeting.
