Monday, August 01, 2011: The accused, who was arrested in connection with a case relating to the suicide of a 13-year-old girl studying at private school here, has been remanded to custody.
The accused has been identified as Praveen Kumar (26), school van driver hailing from Ooruttambalam was remanded for 14 days after he was produced before the Magistrate on Sunday.
On further interrogation the accused confessed that he had sexually molested the minor girl several times. The autopsy reports also reveal that the girl was sexually exploited several times.
The investigation team is currently tracing the incoming and out going call details of Praveen’s mobile phone. The suicide note written by the girl also pointed out Praveen’s involvement in the case, police told.
