Capital city was sidelined in State budget, claims VS

Monday, July 25, 2011: Opposition leader, VS Achuthanandan today alleged that the capital city was sidelined in the revised budget presented by Finance Minister KM Mani in the Assembly.
Achuthanandan was speaking after inaugurating an agitation launched by LDF district committee alleging imbalances in the budget. Speaker G Karthikeyan’s decision to enact the finance appropriation bill was highly undemocratic, VS added.
The opposition had earlier alleged that the finance bill was passed in the Assembly without majority and also that one of the ruling party members had cast his vote twice when the ‘vote on account’ was called for passing the bill.
