Contempt of Court: Jayarajan directed to appear in person

Wednesday, July 27, 2011: The Kerala High Court has today directed the CPM leader MV Jayarajan to appear in person in connection with the contempt of Court case charged against him. A new chargesheet will be issued to Jayarajan in the case in which the time and venue will be mentioned.
The CPI(M) leader had made the remarks in a speech made at a public meeting on July 1 in Kannur in the wake of the High Court ban on roadside public meetings. . The contempt of court proceedings were initiated suo motu on the basis of a writ petition filed by P. Rehim, a lawyer.
