Tuesday, July 26, 2011: A mild tremor measuring upto 1.4 in the Richter scale was experienced in few areas of Idukki district on Tuesday and has triggered panic among the residents in the area.The tremor was experienced for few seconds in the suburban areas of Velliyamattom, Udumbanoor, Painavu, Cheruthoni, Idukki dam and Wagamon. The district administration informed no damage had been reported from anywhere in the district.
Many people living in the area did not feel it. Some heard a rumbling noise.
