Friday, July 29, 2011: Kerala Press Academy Chairman S R Sakthidharan resigned from the post. A senior journalist, who had served for long with CPM daily Deshabhimani, Sakthidharan was appointed as Chairman of the Press Acdemy by the previous LDF Government.
He submitted his resignation to the Secretary of the Academy, sources said. On coming to power, the UDF Government had signalled that it would reconstitute government boards and corporations. Sakthidharan had two more years to complete his renewed term, Academy sources said.
