THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE) has included seven new colleges in the third round of allotment which commenced on Wednesday. The colleges are Holy Kings College of Engineering and Technology, Muvattupuzha, Ernakulam; Holy Crescent College of Architecture, South Vazhakulam, Aluva; College of Architecture, Vellanad, Thiruvananthapuram; College of Engineering, Pathanapuram, Kollam; Sri Eranakulathappan College of Engineering & Management, Thrissur; Vigyan Institute of Science & Technology, Nellurupara, Piravom, Ernakulam; Kottayam Institute of Technology & Science, Pallicathode, Kottayam.
Apart from this, new courses have been allotted to nine engineering colleges during the third allotment.
There will be facilities for submitting fresh options in the third phase of allotment to the Academy of Medical Sciences, Pariyaram, Kannur, and Co-operative Medical College, Kochi. BPL category, lower income group and SEBC categories of students admitted to these colleges can avail fees concession benefits.
As many as seven candidates belonging to the BPL/lower income category who have been allotted seats in these colleges can study at a fees of Rs 25,000 and 10 candidates belonging to the above category allotted to the Pariyaram College can study at a fees of Rs 23,000. Rank and category will not be the criteria for selecting these candidates. SC/ST/OEC students, who already enjoy fees benefit, will not be considered for this concession. Apart from that, 13 candidates who belong to the SEBC category allotted to Cooperative Medical College, Kochi, can study for a fees of Rs 37,000 and 13 candidates who belong to the SEBC category allotted to Pariyaram can study for a fees of Rs 44,000.
These candidates will be selected on the basis of rank and category. The fees benefits will be granted only after the closure of allotments to MBBS course.
Hence, candidates allotted to Cooperative Medical College, Kochi, will have to remit the State Merit fees of Rs 87,000 and those allotted to Pariyam college will have to remit a fees of Rs 1,00,000 at the time of allotment.
The CEE will refund the balance amount to the candidates who are eligible for fee benefits after the completion of allotment process.
Facility will be opened for candidates to re-arrange higher options, delete unwanted options and to register options to newly-started courses and colleges till Friday on the website www.cee.kerala.gov.in.
The third phase of allotment will be published on August 30 based on the options registered till 5 p.m. on August 26. Candidates who receive allotment in the third phase will have to remit the fees/additional fees/deposit at the designated branches of SBT on August 31, September 1 or September 2. Those candidates who have remitted the fees can join the colleges from August 31 to September 3. Those candidates who are satisfied with the allotment received in the second allotment should cancel their higher options. The facility to cancel the options is available only through the home page of the candidate.
